the ARC will not contact the command until AFTER the child is born for a normal delivery. How can Army Husband Come Home For My delivery?
Why are you not on his PCS orders to accompany him to his duty station? Why has he not already talked with his COC and got permision to leave if thats what needs to be done?
I am a little surprised he hasnt already talked with his COC about this, If he just got to his new duty station they should have given him 10 days permissive TDY to come and get you...so if there is some reason you can not travel to his duty station they should just work out another arrangement with him.....but he is a big boy and needs to work this out with his COC.
sorry but red cross wont help you
this isnt an emergency
your life or the childs life has to be in imminent danger and our most likely not
i assume your with family to the army that will be plenty of help.
many military men miss the births of their kids
life isnt fair
get used to it your now a wife of a solider he will be missing alot of stuff
he can ask his command for leave if he has it available he gets 30 days a year but he has to earn it first being as he will have only been there a couple of weeks he probably wont get it
not fair to the guys who have been there a lot longer who havent had leave yet
There is a 800 number
The toll-free telephone number is (877) 272-7337
call this number and explain everything.. Make sure to have your husbands full name, rank, what post he is on, and if possible his ss# and his new unit, or last unit that you knew he was in.. The red cross will try to make it as easy as possible

He submits a leave form just like everybody else. It's called a DA 31 and he fills it out and turns it in to his supervisor. You don't need to do a thing. Nowadays, the Army gives him ten free days of leave for a childbirth anyway, so it's not even chargeable leave.
